What is Sober Living?

A Safe and Supportive Environment for Recovery

At Pendo Homes, we provide alcohol- and drug-free housing that serves as a critical bridge for individuals transitioning from treatment to long-term recovery. Our sober living homes are designed to offer a structured, supportive environment that promotes accountability, healing, and personal growth.

Sober living is about more than just staying clean—it’s about building a new way of life. At Pendo Homes, residents live in a community of peers who are also committed to sobriety, creating a space where encouragement, shared experiences, and daily support foster real transformation.

While staying at Pendo Homes, residents are encouraged to attend NA/AA meetings and participate in group activities that reinforce their commitment to recovery. House Managers facilitate one-on-one check-ins, oversee house meetings, and ensure that each resident has the structure and accountability they need to stay on track. Please note: Pendo Homes does not offer treatment, detox, or medical recovery services.

Our goal is to maintain a stable, substance-free environment where everyone feels safe and supported.

Drug Testing

To preserve the integrity of our community, drug testing is conducted on-site by trained House Managers. We use FDA-approved Multi-Drug Urine Test Panels that are trusted by various state agencies and other sober living facilities.

Substances we test for include:

Amphetamines (AMP)

Barbiturates (BAR)

Benzodiazepines (BZO)

Cocaine (COC)

Marijuana (THC)

Methamphetamine (MET)

Ecstasy (MDMA)

Morphine (MOP)

Methadone (MTD)

Opiates (OPI)

Phencyclidine (PCP)

Tricyclic Antidepressants (TCA)

Oxycodone (OXY)

If a resident tests positive, they are required to vacate the home within 24 hours to protect the recovery efforts of others. In rare cases of suspected false positives, residents may seek a hospital-administered drug screen within a 5-hour window to contest the results—at their own expense and with proper documentation.

We understand the gravity of this policy and enforce it with care and fairness to uphold the supportive environment we've built.
